If you want a getaway from it all type holiday, this is it. Out holiday home overlooked fields of sheep, rabbits were frequent visitors around our caravan, and ducks came for bread regularly and practically ate out of our hands they were so tame. The beach was in walking distance, and the cinque ports of both Rye and Hastings were both a short bus ride away (we left the car at the caravan park and being over 60 we used our free bus travel passes throughout the holiday going as far as Eastbourne and Tenterden). We went out every day and managed to see lots of lovely places. A very enjoyable holiday
Mrs M, Warrington, 11th Oct 2008

Nice, friendly, relaxed and quiet park, friendly helpful staff with the beach nearby.
Mr H, 10th Dec 2008

The park is located in a very accessible location. With many National Trust sites and local towns to be viewed. If you do not want to use the car, there is an abundance of walks in all directions.

New Beach Customer Review by Lucy Davies, Essex

New Beach Customer Review by Lucy Davies, Essex
28th May 2009

We stayed at New beach last year on the main park and decided that we wanted to return this year for Easter. When we called to book our Easter break we were told that the park was full as we expected. We spoke to some close friends who allowed us to use their motor home, as you can imagine we were nervous as we had never been in a motor Home before. We took a chance and drove down to Kent. Upon checking in we spoke to the manager who was at the desk and he explained the procedure and showed us to our pitch. The staff even helped us put the tent on the side of the motor home. It turned out to be a fantastic Holiday. We have already booked for the summer.

Please keep up the good work.

Just returned from our dream Holiday!

Really loved this site, the swimming pool was great, it also had go karts on site to hire which the kids loved. The gentle man who works there was so very helpful, had a few problems with the caravan and car and he helped sort everything out for us, could not have done more for us. The kids really loved it and I am going to book this site again for the summer holidays.

Just got back from this site, six tents, twenty three adults and kids. We prebooked and they allocated us a field to ourselves, fantastic! Paul was friendly showing us to our field and gave us loads of helpful advice and left us to it, there was no nonsense about pitch sizes (Harford xxl) possibly because it was quiet.
The indoor pool was toasty, clean and very well attended by the lifeguards. The shower block (portacabin) was adequate and could do with being renovated but a very minor point. The evening entertainment was brilliant (live band) the kids were very happy with the place lots of amusements and kids games.

A well stocked shop at very reasonable prices and a good kids play area. I will definitely be going back!

We have been camping at Seaview for around 8 years and I will continue to do so. I love the new improvments to the club house and look forward to the much awaited pool ready for the 2010 season which is now advertised in the 2010 brochure. The only thing I am still very concerned about is the toilet block it desperatley needs to be revamped and perhaphs more shower cubicles with hot running water as it can be extremely busy at peak times. Other than that the site is great, good-sized pitches, close to the beach, and a lovely walk into Whitstable along the seafront is a must.

Stayed at Seaview and it is a lovely site with very helpful and friendly staff, the gardens are beautiful. The bar staff and the groundsmen are very nice, the location is so very good. I think everybody that likes caravan holidays should give Seaview a visit as its the best caravan park we have ever been to and the children just love it there.
Mr & Mrs D, W.Sussex, 18th Sep 2008

We visited this site a lot last year in our motorhome, the weather was lovely so we stayed on and on and on!!! Used to live down here years ago, so brought back memories. We now have a touring caravan and jet-ski, and about to get a seasonal pitch!

Excellent, friendly, small and everything you need. It's been our holiday destination for the last seven years. The staff lead by Diane are extremely hard-working and always on call if you need anything. Our kids (now 10, 14 and 17!) would be devastated if we didn't keep coming back. Extremely good value for money. Also good local pubs (and grub) especially the William the Conqueror - walking distance - the landlord Bernie is the best pub chef we know !!!! See you all again soon !!!

Fantastic value for money, small, friendly and exceptionally clean. Ideal for families with young children as you can walk to the beach without going on a road.

The Park is perfect for relaxing. We went back because there were too many places to see in a week. This year the weather was perfect but it didn't matter last year when it rained we always found something to do. I would be happy to recommend the park to anyone whatever age, whether a couple or a family group.

I recently bought a caravan from the Coghurst team. It has been a wonderful experience. The sales transaction was smooth. I got a courtesy caravan while they prepared mine. My plot is marvellous and I am surrounded by fantastic neighbours. The sales staff have been incredibly welcoming and the after care has been brilliant. The grounds men are very helpful and have sorted out the few snagging issues.

We purchased a caravan at Coghurst Hall in August. We had been to other sites and called in to look at possibilities at Coghurst. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! A fabulous park, small, but with everything needed. Quality of staff was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. I'm a single parent with an autistic 11 year old son, and we went with a close friend (also a single mum) with 2 children, 1 of whom has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The staff realised that they had additional needs, often without prompting, and included them in everything - without making them feel any different. My son even had his photo taken with Loopy the mascot, they even got him to make eye contact and smile! Never before achieved! The entertainment was superb, with Paul, Becki and the team providing truly first rate shows, as well as being great fun off stage. My friend and I have managed to book for a weekend in October, and are REALLY looking forward to taking the kids there again next year. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Entertainment Team were amazing!!! Every night they put on a stunning show and I can't believe how much energy they all had! The dancing and singing was fabulous. The last night was also very funny, Andy Pandy and Loopy Lou!! Harry and Mark are very funny! I think Harry is a very good entertainer. I think they all had outstanding voices especially Dev and the dancing was superb, especially Harry. The adult games were also funny, especially on the last night. The entertainment team all had a great sense of humour and made the holiday even better, they made up for the weather! Well done Harry, Mark, Becky, Dev, Vanessa and Stacey, and of course Paul Michaels who has obviously worked very hard!! I think Harry is just so funny, you've got to love him! He always made me laugh, especially when my mum walked across the middle and he asked if she'd been released early!! Well done again!!
Alice, 13th August, 2008

What can I say about this holiday! This is the 8th time my family have been to Dawlish. It started off with just us 4,then progressed up to 35 for our yearly trip every October. Everyone we recommend Golden Sands to return year after year. Why? THE ENTERTAINMENT CREW!!! Every year, the shows get better and better. Paul, Bex, Stax, Harry, Dev, Mark and Vanessa are a truly talented team who work so well together - Park Holidays UK have got a winning combination.
Maxine McNeil 31st August 2008

We stayed at the park for a week, the site was nice, but the entertainment team, TEAM 2008 was fantastic, they make you feel so welcome and involved..... a wonderful choreography team and Harry is FAB!!!!! My children loved every minute, each night was as entertaining as the previous. We have never been to Brit holiday parks but we shall be revisiting Golden Sands in 2009 for sure!!!!! Caravans are better than the chalets I feel. Value for money as well all round.... The shop on site is very cheap which was a shock, we expected expensive. It was cheaper than normal high street shops which was good on the purse! Overall Golden Sands is a great family break!!!!! Team 2008 see you in 2009!!!!

We had a great holiday and we love it that much we want to buy a caravan down there. The people are great and they all looked after us we had a great week and would like to thank everyone for that.
Jane Edwards, August 13th 2006

I stayed at Seawick Holiday Park for an 80's Weekender. I have to say that I found the park to be great, with everything as expected. The accommodation was clean and tidy we even had the beds made! We went for the entertainment, and it was great with a UB40, Madness and Blondie tribute acts along with Boney M, with the 80's music until 2.00am. I will definitely go back to the 80's Weekend next year.

I recently visited St Osyth Beach and myself and my family had a great holiday. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The swimming pool was great and the entertainment was fantastic. The bar manager James was so polite and made us feel very welcome. The shop has a large variety of food and drink and had newspapers every morning. The caravan was beautiful and was very clean on our arrival and in a beautiful location. The park is very pretty and so close to the beach. I really didn’t want to come home but all good things come to an end but I’ve all ready booked for next year and cant wait!!!

The fantastic views make this site well worth visiting again and again we have just booked for our 3rd consecative year. Lots to do around the area especially the beautiful Brixham harbour with its excellent restraunts (Beamers) Fish & Chips (Niks) , boat trips on the Brixham belle and its unforgetable crew and not forgetting the brixham ghost walk.

We have just returned from a 4 night holiday and were very pleased. The only down side was that there was an old banana left under one of the beds in the chalet which was quickly cleaned up.
We have to say that what made the holiday was the live entertainment. On other holidays of this ilk we would go to the shows and come home quite quickly, but the staff got everyone involved and their live shows knocked the spots off other parks. We even won a free holiday, so can't complain.
The chalet was basic but newly decorated with double glazing (although I will take my own heater when I go back in October!)and seeing as we paid half price through the newspaper promotion, we did get value for money.
If you want 5* then book a 5* hotel, but if you want a good family holiday, where the kids will be happy and can go for a swim everyday, then try it. We had one of the best british holidays we've had in years, but we went determined to enjoy ourselves!

Weekend Break at Riviera Bay 27th-30th March 2009

My wife and I feel we must write to pass on our feelings regarding our visit to your site.

We booked through the sun holiday scheme and thought we may use the experience as a cheap weekend away and use the site as no more than a base. As neither of us had been on holiday in this country during our adult life's we left on Friday almost with a feeling of trepidation.

However, after the weekend experience with yourselves we will definitely be coming again!

Firstly the entertainment team. I never thought I would say this but absolutely superb. Professional, warm, courteous, funny and above all very entertaining! Despite the fact that each night they were performing in front of a very small audience the effort shown by all was faultless. We have two young children, Harry (two and a half) and Holly (one) and they were absolutely enthralled. Normally they are both in bed by 7 o clock but they were enjoying themselves so much we let them stay up with us until 11 on the Sunday evening. We went to a first choice Holiday Village in Majorca last year and our son showed no interest so to see him so happy when your team were doing their thing was great. Infact, both the adult and children entertainment blows the Holiday Village stuff out of the water. The way they ensure they got to know all the kids first names on the Friday night was a fantastic idea. We all thought the whole team were great but special mention must go to the 19 year old lad with the dark hair. I believe his name was Josh. He was naturally funny and seemed to be giving everything he had to ensure people enjoyed themselves. First class.

The restaurant. Again at the so say four star Holiday Villages the best you can hope for is pizza and sausages served by surely waitresses. The food at riviera bay is obviously your normal pub type food but was pleasant enough. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Better service than I had received in a top quality restaurant. One evening we had run out of milk for our baby girl and the shop was shut. Without complaint the staff supplied us with some milk and did not even charge us.

The chalets. Basic but very clean and superb views. Much much better than expected on all counts.

Crazy golf and bowling- Very reasonably priced and perfect for a sports mad two year old boy.

The young lad who looks after the amusents was also very helpful and went out of his way to make conversation.

Only downsides to the camp - beer a bit pricey, swimming pool could be bigger. That's it. Everything else was great. Even the lady in the shop was very friendly. As were the ladies in reception.

Finally just want to mention the little boy who played cards and bowling with my son. He even gave me a game of darts. I believe he is the managers son. A credit to his parents.

Overall, believe me, my wife and I were not expecting to come away on Monday with us both so gushing with the Riviera bay experience. But we were. As was Harry who has not stopped talking about it since.

Please pass on our thanks to all concerned and we hope to see you all again soon.

Riviera Bay is quite simply the best holiday location I have ever been to - I've stayed in everything from campsites to 5* hotels and in 37 years I have NEVER booked the same location twice - too many places to see, too little time. From the minute we arrived at Riviera Bay we were enchanted. The location is stunning, the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, the park is immaculately maintained inside and out and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. We had all kinds of excursions and nights out planned, but we spent 90% of our holiday at Riviera Bay! Within 24 hours we had made the decision to book again next year.

Mrs S, 10th Dec 2008

Just had a four night stay at Landscove. Park is in beautiful location, secluded & peaceful.
Brixham town is nearby and the walk around Berry Head starts just at the bottom of the park.
Swimming pool & entertainment was very good however the pool could do with staying open a bit later - say 6pm, 5pm is too early - always rushing back to get a swim before it closed. The childrens entertainment whilst good, is on too late for younger children at 8pm could there not be something earlier for under 5's - before the bingo starts? All in all we had a very nice stay and would come back.

This was the first holiday that I had been on with the whole family. I was expecting it to be a nightmare holiday with 2 small children moaning all week and not enough room in the caravan but I was amazed to find that they were as good as gold. The caravan was perfect and felt so homely inside and child friendly and the outdoor space was amazing. The views were amazing and the site it self was tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. The holiday in Devon was the most beautiful holiday ever that we have decided to move back to Devon after 8 years away in London and it was such the perfect place that my partner proposed to me on the cliffs. I would recommend this holiday to everyone if you’re looking for a holiday where you’re not pulling your hair out. One of the most amazing experiences, and so clean and family friendly.

Although the accommodation is a fair quality the staff and updated reception area made it a good experience and being close to the town meant we had lots of things to do!

Directions

From Exeter you have a choice of routes...

  • ROUTE 1 – Take the A380 from Exeter to Torquay, turning right on to the Ring Road (A380) at the roundabout outside Torquay, following the caravan and camping signs, stay on the A380 heading for Brixham. Turn left onto the A379 at Churston traffic lights. Head for Paignton and Torquay. After ½ a mile the road becomes a dual carriageway. Take the first exit right then first left which brings you onto the park. (This route avoids the town centre, often congested on Saturdays).
  • ROUTE 2 – Take the A380 from Exeter to Torquay and Paignton. From Paignton take the A379 Dartmouth Road to Brixham. The Park is approximately two miles on the left hand side at Goodrington past the shops. Proceed on the dual carriageway up the hill, take the first turning left, then left again into the Park.

The entertainers were great especially Baz, Tommo and Dan they were amazing, friendly and up for a laugh. We miss them as there shows were great and they made our holiday. Baz you are the best entertainment manager we have met as you actually take part in the shows and party dances.

Baz, Tomo, Jamie, Sarah and Jenny are billiant entertainers, they are fun to be around and make you laugh at what they say. Dean and Matt the to male bar staff are so polite and sweet. Can't wait to go there again to see them, they are such a great team.

This is our first visit to Waterside Holiday Park and we will definitely go back. The swimming pool was lovely and warm. The entertainment team were absolutely fabulous. Jenny the entertainment manager can be very proud of herself they all certainly earn their money they work very hard. Can I also congratulate DJ Ste for the sound and lighting in the shows definitely the best we have seen. Many thanks to you all.
Mrs. Towler, 2nd September, 2008

We have just come back from Waterside Holiday Park. It was the best ever. The entertainment at night was brilliant my favourite was Dan. I loved the little beach next to us it was not exactly a beach but a stony sort it was totally safe! The caravan was brilliant and I loved the smugglers inn chip. At entertainment at bingo time the entertainers made such funny noises. Like for example for number 17 they would sing she was just 17, you know what I mean, I would never dance with another oooh I hope to come back to waterside and hope to see the same entertainers. Love you all entertainers (especially Dan)
Ruby Sidhu, 25th August, 2008

We have stayed here in 05 06 07 and now in 08 and this year was by far the best year. The entertainment team is by far the best. Park is very clean with great views over the bay to Torquay and Brixham. Kids club is great for the little ones with things to do between 10am and 11am and 7pm and 8pm every day.

A beautiful campsite in the heart of the English Riveriea. Excellent on-site entertainment. Nice to have an outdoor swimming pool and to see the train running passed. Quality food in the Smugglers Inn. Fantastic Kids Club thinks my daughter! Kids Bar sells a good selection of food and drinks such as slush puppies, popcorn etc. A lot to do in the local area and in the arcade on site!
The Evans Family, 5th September. Visited for 4 years running.

We went to Waterside last year but this year the entertainment team Jenny Dan Guy Michelle Kirsty dj Ste were by far the best had a fantastic holiday. You will have a good time if you go to the park and you get these guys as your entertainment team brill.
Debbie Arrowsmith, 7th September, 2008

My family and I recently visited the park with some friends, upon arrival we were told our keys were not ready yet, but we could wait upstairs in the bar area. We were then welcomed by an energetic team of people performing a pantomime. Panto is definitely not my thing but I have to say that waterside have gott'n it so right. I found it hilarious! A great start to my family break. The beach is a stones throw away and there are shops and general stores just around the corner. The evenings entertainment was brilliant, the team were great, really made an effort with the audience, Dan, Ben and DJ Ste have had us in stitches and Jenni is a fantastic asset to the park, we have been visiting Waterside for a good few years now and she has brought back the fun and friendliness to the yacht club it has been missing. All in all the holiday was a great success and we have all thoroughly enjoyed it. i would definitely recommend Waterside holiday park to anybody.
